Privacy Policy

Scope and operator

This policy describes how giovanniabreu.com (the “Site”), operated in a personal capacity by Luis Giovanni Abreu-Morrobel (“GiovanniAbreu,” “I,” “me,” or “my”), handles information. It applies to this Site and direct communications with me. It does not govern third-party websites or services linked from the Site.

Information handled

The Site does not provide accounts, accept payments, or contain a contact form. I may handle the following limited information:

• Direct communications: your name, email address, message, and any information you choose to send by email.
• Booking information: if you use the booking link, Google processes the information you submit. I may receive the booking details needed to schedule and conduct the meeting.
• Technical information: the hosting provider may process IP address, request time, requested URL, browser or device information, approximate location derived from IP address, diagnostics, and security logs.
• Link resolution: selecting the GitHub link causes your browser to contact GitHub’s public API to locate my current profile, after which GitHub’s terms and privacy practices apply.

Cookies and browser storage

The Site does not use advertising cookies, behavioral tracking pixels, or third-party analytics. On mobile, the Site offers a brief storage notice. If you accept it, one first-party local-storage value—lgam-cookie-ack-v1—records that acknowledgment so the notice is not repeatedly shown. It contains no name, email address, advertising identifier, or cross-site activity.

You can remove this value through your browser’s site-data controls. Removing it will cause the notice to appear again. Third-party services may use cookies or similar technologies after you choose to visit them; their policies control those technologies.

How information is used

Information is used only to operate and secure the Site, respond to messages, arrange requested meetings, maintain records of professional communications, prevent misuse, comply with law, and establish or defend legal rights. I do not use Site information for automated decision-making or profiling.

Legal bases

Where a legal basis is required, processing may rely on your consent, steps you request before entering an agreement, performance of an agreement, compliance with legal obligations, or legitimate interests such as responding to inquiries, operating a secure Site, and maintaining appropriate business records. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Disclosure and service providers

I do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or rent it to data brokers. Information may be disclosed only:

• to hosting, email, calendar, security, and other service providers as needed to provide their services;
• when you direct or authorize the disclosure;
• to comply with law, legal process, or a valid government request; or
• to protect rights, safety, security, and the integrity of the Site.

Outbound links include Google Calendar, LinkedIn, Substack, GitHub, Karaya Group, Openly Useful, and GloatRoom. Once you leave this Site, those services independently determine how they handle your information.

Retention

Direct communications and booking records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the inquiry, relationship, recordkeeping, dispute prevention, and legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized when practical. Hosting and service-provider logs are retained under the provider’s own settings and policies. The mobile acknowledgment remains in your browser until you clear site data or the notice version changes.

Security

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for information under my control. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed. Please do not send passwords, financial account information, government identifiers, health information, or other sensitive information through ordinary email or an initial booking request.

Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or information about processing; to object to certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to appeal or complain to a regulator. You will not be discriminated against for making a valid privacy request.

Requests may be sent to hello@giovanniabreu.com. I may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. Because the Site does not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, it does not offer a “Do Not Sell or Share” mechanism; recognized browser preference signals do not change that practice.

International visitors

The Site is operated from the United States. If you access it from another country, information may be processed in the United States or in locations where service providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws. Where required, appropriate legal safeguards will be used for international transfers.

Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for a general professional audience and is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact me so it can be reviewed and deleted as appropriate.

Policy changes

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the Site, providers, or legal requirements. A revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will be highlighted when reasonably appropriate.
