Terms of Service
Effective
These terms are short because the site is simple: it's a personal page about me and the things I work on.
About these terms
giovanniabreu.com (the "site") is a personal website run by Luis Giovanni Abreu-Morrobel (Giovanni Abreu), called "I" or "me" below. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
Using the site
You're welcome to read the site, share it, and link to it. Please don't try to break it, overload it, get into systems you aren't authorized to access, or use it for anything unlawful.
No professional relationship or advice
What I write here is my personal opinion and general information. It isn't legal, financial, technical, or any other kind of professional advice, and it doesn't speak for any employer or client. Reading the site or emailing me doesn't create a consulting, employment, or other professional relationship. Any work together needs its own written agreement.
Links to other sites
Some links go to sites run by others, such as LinkedIn and GitHub. I'm not responsible for their content or practices. Karaya Group, Openly Useful, and GloatRoom are separate ventures, each with its own terms and privacy policy, and those terms, not these, apply when you use them.
Content and intellectual property
Unless noted otherwise, the text, images, and design of this site belong to me, and all rights are reserved. You're welcome to quote short passages with a link back. Other names and logos on the site, including LinkedIn and GitHub, belong to their owners and appear here only to identify them.
No warranty
I try to keep the site accurate and working, but it's provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Content may be out of date, and I may change or remove anything at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the site, relying on its content, or following its links. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. They don't take away any rights you have under the mandatory laws of the place where you live.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains what information the site handles, which is very little.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows when they last changed.
